The plugin can register new users to your WordPress site. You can choose to allow registration only for EDD customers, allow registration for everyone, or disable registration.
- Allow registration only for EDD customers:
If you allow registration only for EDD customers, then only EDD customers will be allowed to register on our form (on the “Open a Ticket” page and on the “My Tickets” page). These would be customers who checked out as a Guest and never registered. If you use this option, be sure to disable registration in your main WordPress Settings. Go to your WordPress Settings -> General and make sure the “Membership” box is unchecked (“Anyone can register”).
Regardless of that general “Membership” setting, our form will restrict registration to only EDD customers. However, random visitors may happen to access your default WordPress registration page by going to www.yoursite.com/wp-login.php?action=register. In that case, they would be allowed to register since this plugin doesn’t control what happens on that form. To avoid that, simply disable registration in your general WordPress Settings.
- Allow registration for everyone:
Even if you allow registration for everyone, only EDD customers will be allowed to submit support requests. A non-customer will be registered, but then will see a notice saying that support is only for customers. - Disable registration:
If you disable registration, then only existing, registered EDD customers will be able to log in for support.
