Daily Moon Forecast is a WordPress plugin that adds an astrology widget which displays the current zodiac sign of the moon along with a forecast, which updates automatically as the moon sign changes. The widget also displays the current local date and time of the viewer, as given by the viewer’s browser.
New Shortcode Since version 1.3.4
Use the shortcode to insert Daily Moon Forecast on any page or post:
The zodiac icon will also update as the moon sign changes. The forecast is simply a one-sentence or two-sentence suggestion of the general mood in the air according to the zodiac sign the moon is in. Twelve forecasts are included, one for each of the twelve zodiac signs. You have the option to write your own custom forecast for each moon sign.
Daily Moon Forecast uses the Swiss Ephemeris inside to get the longitude of the Moon. Information about the Swiss Ephemeris can be found at http://www.astro.com/swisseph/swephinfo_e.htm
The default language is English. The
.po translation files are included for the following six languages:
The plugin is translation-ready, and includes a
.pot file to make it easy for you to translate it into other languages. If your language is not on this list, I’d be happy to add it. Contact me here and tell me the language you’d like to see here.
See a demo of this plugin on the left sidebar of Astrology Library’s home page. However, please note that they have formatted the date and time to remove the weekday from the date, and to remove the seconds from the time. By default, this plugin includes the weekday in the date, and the seconds in the time, as pictured above on this page.
Requirements and Specs
Your server must have at least PHP 4.x installed. You must be using WordPress 3.3.1 or higher.
Your web host must allow file permissions be set (chmod 755). The plugin does this automatically, and works fine with most web hosts, but I have been alerted to at least 1 web host that blocks this. If your web host blocks it, you will have to manually set file permissions on one file in the plugin.
My GPL-licensed software is free from most restrictions. You are free to do with it what you want, in accordance with the GPL, on as many websites as you like. That type of freedom makes my items refreshingly valuable.
Compare this with Code Canyon’s so-called Extended License, and you’ll see what I mean.
